シェイクスピアは好んで悲劇の戯曲を書き綴った。
喜びを綴るのは、むしろ簡単なのかもしれない。
けれども、様々な人間の悲しみを知らなければ、
喜びとは何であるのかを忘れてしまう。
喜びが喜びである理由が分からなくなるのである。
それ故、偉大なシェイクスピアは喜びとは逆のものを
追い求めたのである。
人々が正しい認識を小石にちりばめ、
額の宝石とならんと祈りて。
神は悲しみを通して喜びを知って欲しいと願いけり。
