並木通りの裏路地に、茶色いジャケットを着た男性が座っていた。
男性の前には陶器の皿が置いてあり、数枚の小銭が入っていた。
そこへ１０歳ぐらいの小綺麗な少年がやって来て男の前で立ち止まった。
少年はしばらく男性のことを観察していた。
やがて少年は「ほらよ」そう言って銀貨を投げ入れた。
男性はゆっくり立ち上がり「これはお返しするよ」そう言って銀貨を差し出した。少年は怒りの表情を浮かべて、
「そんなことを言える立場ではないだろ！」と怒鳴りつけた。
男性は微笑んで「おまえさんは人に施しが出来る立場にはまだ立っていないよ」
そう言って、再び銀貨を差し出した。
“Boy and beggar”
A man wearing a brown jacket was sitting on the alley in alley tree-lined street.
There was a ceramic dish in front of the man, and several small changes were in it.
A beautiful boy about ten years old came up there and stopped in front of a man.
The boy had been observing men for a while.
Soon the boy said “so-so-so” and threw silver coins.
The man slowly stood up and said, “I will give back this,” so I offered the silver coin. The boy, with the expression of anger,
“I am not in a position to say such a thing!”
The man smiled and said, “You are not standing in the position where you can give it”
I said so, I offered the silver coins again.
